Whale season
Giants just meters from the boat.
From Puerto Pirámides, a small boat takes you out among southern right whales, some of the largest animals on Earth. Watch them breach, splash and glide alongside, just meters away.

Atlantic Patagonia · Marine wildlife
A whale breaking the surface. Penguins busy along the shore. A stretch of wild Atlantic coast where the next memorable moment arrives on nature’s terms.
A place to picture yourself
Península Valdés is a UNESCO World Heritage wildlife reserve on the Atlantic coast of Patagonia, and few places bring you this close to wild animals. From Puerto Pirámides, small boats head out to meet southern right whales that breach and splash just meters away, while elephant seals rest on the peninsula’s beaches and sea lions crowd its rocks.
Farther south lies the largest Magellanic penguin colony on the continent, where you walk among the birds as they come and go from the sea. And out on the water, a short boat trip goes in search of the panda dolphin, a small black-and-white dolphin found almost nowhere else on Earth.

Penguin country
At the largest Magellanic penguin colony on the continent, paths lead you through the nests while the birds waddle past, guard their burrows and march to and from the sea.

Across the peninsula
Cross Península Valdés from coast to coast in search of elephant seals on the beaches, sea lions on the rocks and penguins along the shore, with whales offshore in season.

Panda dolphins
A short boat trip goes in search of the panda dolphin, a small black-and-white dolphin that spins, leaps and rides the bow waves around the boat.

Sea lion colony
Sail along the coast to a colony of South American sea lions, where the massive males guard their stretch of shore and the young play in the water near the boat.
