TRIP REVIEW OF BILL & FREDDI FORD

"This was our first trip to South America and we cannot say enough about the expert planning and customer service of Exploration Journeys. In the planning process, both Fred and John were extremely responsive and listened carefully to what we wanted out of the trip and they excelled in every way.

This trip was for our 50th anniversary and we wanted to experience a concert in the Teatro Colón Opera House the evening of our anniversary date. Tickets for the concert were arranged immediately. We also wanted to experience a soccer (fútbol) match in Buenos Aires and again, the tickets were secured and we attended with a small group. Both experiences were fantastic.

All of our guides were superb — friendly, knowledgeable and solicitous of our needs and comfort. The tours were well organized and we learned a great deal about the country, the politics and the fascinating people who contributed to Argentina’s history.

Perhaps the highlight of the trip was our visit to the San Lorenzo Estancia where we got to see the Magellanic penguin colony up close and very personal. Our guide was fantastic and it was the experience of a lifetime. Another highlight was the whale watch tour where we followed a mother and her calf in our boat for nearly one hour, after which time she breached and said goodbye to us.

We enjoyed so many new experiences in Argentina — the tango show, the wildlife, the architecture, the restaurants and the vibrancy of the city — that this trip will be remembered as one of the best trips we have taken. Both Fred and John were an email or call away to answer any questions and we felt comfortable throughout our trip."

"What truly sets Exploration Journeys apart is their ability to provide an entirely worry-free experience. It was such a relief to focus on enjoying our trip, knowing every detail was handled with care."

"Every part of our 10-day journey was thoughtfully designed, and even when unexpected challenges arose, the team went above and beyond to ensure we could simply enjoy the experience. For example, I accidentally left my iPad at a hotel in El Calafate. Not only did they arrange for another guest to bring it to Buenos Aires, but John personally delivered it to us at the airport. That level of care and service speaks volumes about their commitment to their guests."

"The destinations we visited were stunning, and the guides made all the difference in elevating our experience. From hiking adventures to scenic fishing trips, every activity was enriched by their expertise and passion."

"From managing transfers and flights flawlessly to adding personal touches like ensuring my SkyMiles were included on the tickets, they thought of everything."

Adam & Kasey Van Tassell visited: Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls, Bariloche and El Calafate on November 2024.
This was their first trip to Argentina.

TRIP REVIEW OF ADAM & KASEY VAN TASSELL

"Our 20th-anniversary trip to Argentina with Exploration Journeys was an unforgettable adventure. From the very start, Fred and John’s meticulous attention to detail and their dedication to making everything seamless gave us total peace of mind—something we truly appreciated as we usually manage all trip planning ourselves.

Every part of our 10-day journey was thoughtfully designed, and even when unexpected challenges arose, the team went above and beyond to ensure we could simply enjoy the experience. For example, I accidentally left my iPad at a hotel in El Calafate. Not only did they arrange for another guest to bring it to Buenos Aires, but John personally delivered it to us at the airport. That level of care and service speaks volumes about their commitment to their guests.

The destinations we visited were stunning, and the guides made all the difference in elevating our experience. From hiking adventures to scenic fishing trips, every activity was enriched by their expertise and passion.

When rain and even snow impacted our plans in Bariloche, our guide found a hike that remained open and safe, allowing us to still enjoy the breathtaking landscapes. In El Chaltén, the hike to the frozen lagoon was unforgettable, stunning mountain views, lagoons, and even a rare avalanche that I managed to capture on video. The glacier trekking in El Calafate was another standout, an awe-inspiring experience we’ll never forget. Iguazu Falls was another highlight, especially the Brazilian side, which left us in awe.

The carefully selected accommodations were perfect for our needs. While we typically opt for budget options, we thoroughly enjoyed the comfort and service at the hotels chosen for us. Each had its own charm, from the pool and great breakfasts in Iguazu to the cozy setup in El Chaltén and the superb service in Bariloche and El Calafate.

The tours were consistently excellent, and the guides’ knowledge and professionalism stood out. From hiking adventures to scenic fishing trips, every activity was enriched by their expertise and passion. The glacier trekking in El Calafate was another standout, an awe-inspiring experience we’ll never forget.

What truly sets Exploration Journeys apart is their ability to provide an entirely worry-free experience. It was such a relief to focus on enjoying our trip, knowing every detail was handled with care. From managing transfers and flights flawlessly to adding personal touches like ensuring my SkyMiles were included on the tickets, they thought of everything.

Fred and John, thank you for making this one of the best trips we’ve ever taken. We look forward to returning to Argentina someday to explore even more of this amazing country!"
