"Our experience with Exploration Journeys was excellent – from pre-planning, to setting up our itinerary, to staying in contact from the time we initially spoke in May 2025 to beginning travel in December 2025. More importantly, the implementation of the trip was fabulous – more than we could have expected!
Unlike some others, we had a couple of hiccups that were not of Exploration Journeys (EJ) making; however, they were quick to respond (in minutes, not hours) and helped us resolve those hiccups.
The first was a missed connection from Atlanta to Buenos Aires which required a flight the next day. John and Fred quickly reconfigured our schedule including transport and tours.
The second was in Iguazu Falls where one of our party was restricted from taking the speedboat tour under the Argentinian side of the Falls due a medical condition. Between John, Fred, and the local guide, they arranged for our party to take a speedboat tour on the more-accessible Brazilian side of the Falls in a matter of hours. We could never have handled all of this on our own and speaks volumes about utilizing high quality local agencies for international travel. EJ made everything work seamlessly!
Now for the fun part! We toured Mendoza (wine), Iguazu Falls (Argentina and Brazil), and Buenos Aires over 11 days. In each case, the local guides and transportation provided were outstanding.
Transport was always in larger air-conditioned vans with extremely professional drivers – safe, knowledgeable, and courteous.
The guides EJ utilized were extraordinary. All were knowledgeable, adaptable, and paced the tours well. They presented their wealth of information in a conversational manner, not like something they had rehearsed and had to stay on script.
Since they were all exceptional, it is hard to single out any one individual, but to give you an idea of the kind of guides EJ uses, our Iguazu Falls guide - Veronica - deserves a gold medal. Her passion for customer service and for the Falls was obvious. While most guides probably know about the best spots for photos and facts/figures, Veronica was also an expert wildlife spotter. With everyone else in a rush to see the Falls, she would stop us to point out birds, spiders, fish, and mammals with information on each. That gave us a fuller experience of the entire ecosystem surrounding the Falls that most miss out on. Plus, her guiding us through the bird sanctuary in Brazil was exceptional. Again, her depth of knowledge gave us a much richer experience.
We all had a great time thanks to EJ planning, assistance during the trip, and the use of top-of-the-line guides and transportation. We highly recommend working with Fred and John for your Argentinian journeys!"
