Knowing that Ana’s mom is over 65 years old and the glacier trekking tour has an age restriction of 65, we have arranged two different tour experiences. Today, you’ll split up for the tours.
The first two tours listed below are for Ana"s mom, which include visiting the panoramic boardwalks overlooking the Perito Moreno Glacier and a 1-hour close-up navigation next to the glacier’s wall.
The third tour is for Ana and includes glacier trekking, a short close-up boat ride by the glacier, and visiting the panoramic balconies overlooking the Perito Moreno Glacier.
These are separated group tours, so you won’t be leaving or returning together, and it’s probable that you won’t be at the panoramic balconies overlooking the glacier at the same time.
Seven Panoramic Boardwalks of the Mighty Perito Moreno Glacier
Prepare to visit one of the world’s most awe-inspiring and unique glaciers: The Perito Moreno. This bright white ice giant showcases its mighty glory in the Patagonian Glaciers National Park, which has been declared Mankind’s Natural Heritage site by UNESCO. The park’s vast size not only gives it the distinction of being the largest ice mantle in the world, after Antarctica and Greenland, but also the third largest fresh water reserve on the planet.
The ice that serenely sits above the water measures an impressive 262 feet (80 meters), which is just about the height of a 25-story building! And while that’s an incredibly large size for the human eye to take in, consider that this measurement is only 15% of the glacier’s total height. Five times more ice is hidden underwater.
Explore the panoramic boardwalks facing the glacier, with the snow-capped Andes behind it. Each balcony reveals another perspective on this immense wall of ice.
This is a full-day group tour.
The Mighty Perito Moreno Glacier Close-up Navigation Experience
Cruise the pristine Lake Argentino as the southern wall of Perito Moreno towers before you. From the water, the glacier’s sheer scale becomes a humbling sight—and a completely different perspective from the panoramic boardwalks.
This navigation is a 1-hour group tour done on the same day you do the Perito Moreno Glacier tour.
Conquering the Mighty Perito Moreno Glacier!
Discover your inner adventurer as you explore and conquer one of the world’s most awe-inspiring and unique glaciers: The Perito Moreno. This splendid ice giant showcases its mighty glory in the Patagonian Glaciers National Park, which has been declared Mankind’s Natural Heritage site by UNESCO. The park’s vast size not only gives it the distinction of being the largest ice mantle in the world after Antarctica and Greenland, but also that of being the third largest fresh water reserve on the planet.
Now, picture yourself strapping on your ice spikes as you begin trekking across this immense glacier!
A boat ride and the panoramic boardwalks reveal the glacier from the water and from shore, completing an extraordinary day on and around the ice.
This is a full-day group tour and has an age restriction (click on tour name above for details).
For today’s tours, travelers participating in the glacier trekking will have separate transfers. As a result, the timing of your visit to the panoramic boardwalks may vary, and you may not see each other until you"re back at the hotel.
