Here you’ll find the largest colony of toucans on display in the world, as well as the largest colony of parrots on display in South America, along with 150 different bird species from Brazil and all over the world, many of them endangered.

Located in the midst of the lush tropical rainforest, Foz Tropicana Bird Park is an internationally-recognized rescue and preservation center for endangered birds; and it’s among the most important ones in South America. You’ll find yourself side by side a myriad of exotic birds, in the three walk-in aviaries, where you’ll have the opportunity to have an up-close and personal experience with amazingly colorful parrots and Toco Toucans, among many other birds… all of them right next to you or even flying over your head!

In addition to the diversity and beauty of the birds you’ll see, the park itself presents itself as a unique location. It covers nearly 40 acres (16 hectares) of rainforest, so you’re quite literally going to find yourself in the middle of nature as you make your way along the trails!

You can enjoy 150 species of multi-colored bird species in the natural reserve

You’ll enjoy three aviaries along the visiting trail that you can actually walk into, with birds flying all around you. These aviaries provide plenty of freedom for the birds, while offering visitors a chance to really feel nature around them without having the typical limitations of steel bars and nets. It’s an environment that truly offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience for those who are passionate bird watchers and avid wildlife photographers!

The park also plays host to a collection of butterflies and hummingbirds

In addition to experiencing a collection of 150 different species of birds; such as flamingoes, scarlet ibises, cranes, and harpy eagles; you’ll also be able to observe Caiman crocodiles, anacondas (a type of boa constrictor), and iguanas in the Reptile Refuge.

The park is also host to a butterfly and hummingbird walk-in sanctuary, where you can witness the amazing agility of the world’s smallest bird. Hummingbirds can flap their wings at a frequency of up to 100 times per second, which allows them to hover mid-air. Hummingbirds are the only bird species able to fly backwards!

With its continuing hard work, Foz Tropicana Bird Park not only provides a safe haven for exotic and endangered species, but also breeds these beautiful birds, continuously providing new generations to set free into the wild.

A visit to the park is sure to be a unique experience for lovers of nature and photography alike, as you’ll experience up-close encounters with some of the most colorful and beautiful species of birds.

Your own private guide helps you notice the birds and forest details that interest you most, with personal attention throughout the visit. Your transfers are private, with no stops to pick up or drop off other travelers.
