Exploring the National Museum of Fine Arts and the Colon theater

  • We’ll visit the largest public art collection in Latin America at the National Museum of Fine Arts

In this afternoon tour, we'll enjoy a visit to the Colon Theater, considered one of the ten best opera houses in the world by National Geographic. It's also acoustically considered to be amongst the five best concert venues in the world. Combining those accolades with its rich and prestigious history and impressive architectural features, it's no wonder why it ranks among the best theatres in the world!

We'll do a guided private tour to the Colon Theater, going behind the scenes of this legendary theatre that keeps secrets of its more than 100 years of history in every corner. In the auditorium, the main foyer, the gallery of busts and the golden hall, visitors will marvel at the architectural details, sculptures, and interior decor.

We'll then walk to the obelisk, a national historic monument and icon of Buenos Aires. It was built in 1936 to commemorate the quadricentennial of the first foundation of the city.

It's now time to visit Latin America's largest collection of public art, exhibited at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (National Museum of Fine Arts). Among its more than 12,000 pieces, two collections stand out: 19th century European art, considered the most important in the region; and a collection of Argentine art, beyond a doubt the largest and most valuable of its kind, worldwide.

This afternoon private tour will start go from 2 to 6 PM. The Colon Theater tour lasts 50 minutes and will be done in English by one of the local tour guides of the theater.
