Two-Day Wine Tour Experience in Mendoza
Wine is an absorbing hobby. The vast range of wine styles,
the many thousands of different producers, the hundreds of
different grape varieties, and the differences apparent between
each vintage and the next all conspire to maintain the interest
of even the most ardent geek. But this complexity, which in
truth keeps us all novices, can be figured out knowing more
about the secrets of this beverage, as you will do in this
2 day wine tour experience.
DAY 1
Today you will meet the specialized oenologist who will
accompany you throughout this wine tour.
You will
then depart to the fertile Mendoza oasis (Luján de
Cuyo) where you will visit the wine cellars, their installations
and taste their products.
Mendoza province encompasses 70% of the cultivated area of
the country, and the quality of its offerings make it the
unparalleled wine center of Argentina, with Luján de
Cuyo at its epicenter. The soil is alluvial, gravelly, and
not too deep, with good subsoil drainage. Rainfall is scarce
(7.5 inches or 190 millimeters per year) and the temperature
moderate at 59°F (15ºC). The temperate weather, with
its warm days and cool nights, is ideal for achieving the
colors, aroma and taste of superior wines.
Your expert wine guide will give you
an introductory lecture, in which he will introduce you to
the world of wine, wine production techniques and will explain
the technique of tasting the wines that you shall be trying
on your chosen itinerary.
After the lecture, you will have lunch with guided wine tasting
at chosen winery.
After lunch you will visit the installations of other
wineries where you will also try their wines.
You may choose 3 wineries between the following options:
Cavas de Youinert, Alta Vista, Lagarde, Tapiz, Viña
Amalia, Familia Barberis, Luigi Bosca, Viniterra, Dolium,
Nieto Senetiner, Fabre Montmayou, Chandon, Norton, Carmelo
Patti, Septima, Renacer, Catena Zapata. Lunch at Ruca Malen,
Hacienda del Plata or Cava de Cano.
On the way you will see several sights of interest which will
enable you to acquire a better understanding of the local
culture and geography, key aspects in understanding the wine
making process.
Before returning to the hotel you will tour the city of Mendoza
which, with its ditches and groves, symbolizes the triumph
of the work on the desert soil. You will be visiting diverse
points of interest which will help you to understand the local
culture and geography of this province, both key aspects in
understanding the wine growing process.
Evening at leisure.
DAY 2
After breakfast you return to the productive areas where
you will visit a vineyard and the installations of two other
wineries to try their wines.
You may choose 3 of following winery options:
La Rural, Finca Flichman, CarinaE, Tempyou Alba, Reyter,
Viña el Cerno, López, Tapayou, Tierras Altas
or Familia Zuccardi.
You will end this tour enjoying a typical lunch with guided
wine tasting, where you will enjoy a selection of delicious
Argentinean meat accompanied by house wines.
Since you will be doing this tour with a private vehicle
and guide, you will have the freedom of enjoying each attraction
at your own pace, making all the stops you want, enjoying
personal assistance and care from our specialized guide.
