Exclusive Wine Tour Experience in the Fertile
Mendoza Oasis Enjoy being guided
by a wine expert, tasting first-class wines and visiting the most prestigious
wineries of Mendoza. Wine is an absorbing hobby. The vast range of wine
styles, the many thousands of different producers, the hundreds of different grape
varieties, and the differences apparent between each vintage and the next all
conspire to maintain the interest of even the most ardent geek. But this complexity,
which in truth keeps us all novices, can be figured out knowing more about the
secrets of this beverage, as you will do in this exclusive full day wine tour
experience. You
will then depart to Mendoza's agricultural oasis and visit two prestigious wineries.
You will visit its facilities and be able to participate in a guided wine tasting,
during which you will begin to familiarize with the local's wines and its elaboration
process. Your guide will explain you the technique of wine tasting, the wine
production techniques, the importance of the cork in the bottle and the correct
way to handle a glass in order to taste wine. Mendoza province
encompasses 70% of the cultivated area of Argentina, and the quality of its offerings
make it the unparalleled wine center of Argentina, with Luján de Cuyo at
its epicenter. The soil is alluvial, gravelly, and not too deep, with good subsoil
drainage. Rainfall is scarce (7.5 inches or 190 millimeters per year) and the
temperature moderate at 59°F (15ºC). The temperate weather, with its
warm days and cool nights, is ideal for achieving the colors, aroma and taste
of superior wines. You will visit a third winery
where you will enjoy lunch with guided wine tasting.
After lunch you will be taken to your hotel. On
the way you will see several sights of interest which will enable you to acquire
a better understanding of the local culture and geography, key aspects in understanding
the wine making process. The wineries
we suggest are: Norton,
Achaval
Ferrer and lunch at Ruca
Malen. However depending on availability we may also include other first-class
wineries as: Cavas de
Weinert, Alta Vista,
Lagarde, Tapiz,
Luigi
Bosca, Nieto
Senetiner, Chandon,
El Lagar de Carmelo Patti, Séptima,
Catena Zapata , Finca
Decero, Cap Vistalba,
and Familia
Zuccardi.
Since you will be doing this tour with a private vehicle and guide, you will
have the freedom of enjoying each attraction at your own pace, making all the
stops you want, enjoying personal assistance and care from our specialized guide.

Discovering Some of the Best High Altitude
Wines in the World Enjoy the pleasure of visiting
Valle de Uco, one of the best oenological areas in Argentina and home to some
of the best high altitude wines in the world. Early in the morning you
will depart to Mendoza's agricultural oasis of Valle de Uco, 62 miles (100 kilometers)
from Mendoza City. Inside the first mountainsides of the Andes' foothills, the
Uco valley presents the highest altitudes at which wines are produced in the province
of Mendoza. The grapes produced in this area have reached international
prestige and distinction. In the last years Moet Chandon, Catena, Kendal Jackson
and Rostchild have planted vineyards in Valle de Uco in the search of the "Best
high altitude wine of the world". The microclimates present in this area are suitable
for cultivating varieties such as: Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Torrontes, Tempranillo,Merlot,
Pinot Noir,Chardonnay and Semillon. The wide temperature range, constant
sunshine and excellent soil characteristics of Valle de Uco produce grapes that
enable the production of wines with exceptional intensity in color, as well as
an important aromatic expression and ideal structure. The weather conditions make
these grapes have a thicker skin than in all other areas of Mendoza. This special
attribute makes it possible for the Valle de Uco wineries to produce the finest
wine in Mendoza. You will visit three of these first-class wineries: Salentein
winery, Andeluna
winery, Altus
winery and O
Fournier. You will enjoy a guided wine tasting
in each visited winery. You will
then enjoy an exquisite lunch with wines in one of the visited wineries. Since

of Mendoza, close to the vast mountains and lakes.

A World of Giants: Admiring Mendoza's High
Mountains & The Stone Centinel Mendoza
is the home of the mighty Acouncagua, the tallest mountain on Earth after the
Himalayas mountain range. You will enjoy a scenic drive along the National
route 7 (the road to Chile), making stops at the most important highlights. This
tour is done with private guide and vehicle. This route winds across valleys,
flat lowlands, streams, rivers, foothills and the highest peaks of the Cordillera
de los Andes Mountain Range. Soon after following the route that skirts
the winding course of the Mendoza river, you will leave the countryside behind
in order to enter the pre-mountain range area. The first stop will be
in Potrerillos, a small mountain town with an unbeatable view of the Potrerillos
dam which forms a breathtaking artificial lake. The following section of the route
leads to Uspallata, framed by mountainous landscapes with changing colours, filled
with various geological formations and many tunnels on the road. The famous film
‘Seven years in Tibet’ was filmed in this valley. The trip continues
until you reach Puente del Inca. This is a natural geological bridge formation
that crosses the Rio Las Cuevas River and which has been declared a Natural Monument.
It was formed by thermal erosion caused by the sulphurous waters of the rive,
and its sediment gives it a peculiar ochre, reddish yellow and orange colouration. If
we cross the Puente del Inca towards the mountain range, we can see three natural
pools with thermal waters at a temperature between 33 °C and 39 °C, ideal for
therapeutic treatments. The excellent Hotel Puente del Inca was built here in
1925, and it was destroyed by a landslide in 1965. From that disaster, only La
Capilla remains, a chapel built at the foot of the slope in 1902, and which has
been reconstructed on different occasions due to the avalanches it has withstood
in this place. We´ll enter the stunning Horcones Lagoon and to the Provincial
Park for a short trekking to a viewpoint which allows
us to see the Aconcagua mountain in all its splendor. The Aconcagua stands at
22,841 feet (6,962 meters) above sea level . Prepare your
cameras! The Aconcagua, Watchtower or Stone Sentinel, translated
from a quechua word, shows imposing slopes that change colour, a rocky texture,
snow-capped summits, enormous icicles, big moraines, subterranean rivers, streams,
hanging glaciers, and above all, perpetual snow. Only from December
to March and depending on the road conditions we might be able
to drive to the Cristo Redentor. The local police determines if the unpaved
road to the Cristo Redentor is apt for vehicles or if its bad condition (due to
storms or bad weather) and thus not allowed to be used. The Cristo
Redentor is a bronze sculpture approximately 25 feet (eight meters) tall and weighing
six tons, located at 12725 feet (4200 meters) above sea level, which marks the
border between Argentina and Chile. The monument was inaugurated in the year 1904.
It was declared the First International Monument for Peace between both countries. In
the late afternoon we return to the city. Since you will be doing this
tour with a private vehicle and guide, you will have the freedom of enjoying each
attraction at your own pace, making all the stops you want, enjoying personal
assistance and care from our specialized guide. Difficulty: low
Duration: full day (starts early morning and ends late afternoon). This is a long
