Horseback Riding in the Heights of Mendoza at Estancia La Alejandra

We prepare for an exciting horseback riding experience at Estancia La Alejandra located 6233 feet (1900 meters) above sea level.

La Alejandra is located at the foot of the impressive Cordon del Plata mountain range in the Tupungato area. This mountain range offers a fascinating scenic backdrop for the tour.

Groups for this horseback riding tour are small, and usually number no more than 8 riders.

Our drive from Mendoza city to the estancia is 63 miles (100 kilometers) and takes from 1.5 to 2 hours. The area near the estancia has many eagles, and if you are lucky, you might even see the mighty condor, which is the largest flying bird on Earth (with a size of up to 10 feet or 3.3 meters).

At the estancia you will be greeted by one of the local guides (baqueanos) who knows the region like the palm of his hands. He will be joining your group for the horseback ride.

The horseback ride lasts from 3 to 4 hours depending on your group's spirit and will. During the ride, your guide will show you some chores done at the estancia (like herding the horses or roping them).

After the ride, you will return to the estancia to enjoy lunch.

This tour can also be done with lunch first and the horseback riding later. The order will be confirmed on the day of your tour.

In the afternoon you will have some free time to walk around the estancia before returning to Mendoza city.
