Navigating to Encounter the South American Sea Lion

Prepare to embark on a scenic navigation to enjoy close-up views of the South American sea lion colonies and see caves rich in marine fauna fossils.

South American Sea Lions are quite huge, with the males reaching are approximately 9 feet (3 meters) in length long and can weighing up to 770 pounds (350 kilos). The males are distinguished by a lion-like mane. They are very territorial, especially during breeding season where they fiercely fight each other to defend their territory and their females. As we observe the sea lions, you might even hear the roar of the males while they attempt to mark their territory.

We will spend approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes navigating before returning to the port.

Important: this tour is done on the same day as the Peninsula Valdes tour. This navigation may be cancelled if the winds are too strong. If the tour is cancelled, you’ll receive a full refund for the cost of the tour after your trip.
